JRAM BC Updates: Two Events in One Week

Within one week (July 21 and 27), two major events were held one after another: JRAM Surrey 1st anniversary celebration at Surrey Arts Center and JRAM BC SportsFest at Norquay Park. Each event was distinctive in their purposes, as they both represented the best of what God’s people can do to achieve excellence. Looking back, they both showed teamwork fully exemplified at its peak. This is particularly seen when God’s people come together with one mind and heart.

Finale: "Forgiveness"
JRAM Surrey presented a Live Musical Drama featuring the story of Joseph with a modern twist. At this event, I was given the task to share God’s Word that encapsulated the whole live musical theme. Consequently, the performance of the whole cast was extraordinary in each respective roles that made my task easy. They gave the best of what they can that moved people either through their songs and/or enactment of their characters. As a whole, I was totally impressed by each performance. Two thumbs up and congratulations JRAM Surrey for a magnificent live musical presentation. Keep up the great work!

JRAM Vancouver: 2013 Champions
On the other hand, the JRAM BC SportsFest were both gritty, and exciting. It was gritty, as each team did their best in order to achieve the “Over-all Champions” title for this year. It was also exciting to watch each team loudly cheering for their respective teams to perform their best. Altogether, the whole day spent was worthwhile with these two things in mind. At the end of the day, each team did their best but only one took the title of being the “2013 JRAM BC SportsFest Champion” and JRAM Vancouver got it. Congratulations JRAM Vancouver for achieving this year’s title. Also, it was JRAM New Westminster, “2012 JRAM BC SportsFest Champion” that ceded the champions banner to JRAM Vancouver.

Here’s the over-all result for this year’s JRAM BC SportsFest:
1st Place - Vancouver
2nd Place - Burnaby
3rd Place - Surrey

Congratulations to all those that participated in this year’s JRAM BC SportsFest. Let’s meet again next year and look ahead to pursue the best for God’s glory and towards achievement of the championship title for your respective churches. God bless us all!

Celebrating 1st Anniversary with JRAM Edmonton

Last week, Monette and I celebrated the 1st Anniversary celebration with our JRAM Family in
Praise and Worship led by Joal Abada
Northern Alberta. Everyone was filled with excitement as the program begun. Although there was technical difficulty at the beginning, it did not matter when the Music Team led the congregation of almost 400 people into praise and worship. The place was filled with joy as the celebration started with God lifted up through songs or praise.

It was held at one of the banquet halls of FantasyLand Hotel with their chosen theme” Rise Up Towards Enlargement.” Indeed, an appropriate declaration towards a specific goal in serving God’s purpose. In this 1st year, a new milestone was reached to see how God would manifest His favor upon a newly birthed church. This is a ministry provided by God to those that desired a church family to belong and serve God’s purpose in their lives.
Taken during Preaching

In this celebration, I have realized that in order to experience God’s move, we need to be ready to move with Him wherever He leads us. Emily Prentiss, an American author, well known for her hymn "More Love to Thee, O Christ" and the religious novel Stepping Heavenward, shared this wonderful insight: “God never places us in any position where we cannot grow. When we are not sending branches upward we may be sending roots downward. When everything seems failure we may be making the best kind of progress.”  Experiencing enlargement must be seen with God’s perspective not ours and when we do, that’s when it comes expectedly.
JRAM Northern Alberta Core Team

Thus, JRAM in Edmonton West, Edmonton North and St. Albert will experience enlargement on every level of their ministry life and family with God’s intervention at every level. This is what we believed that would happen as we see enlargement on the horizon with our faith fully intact and our mouth continually declaring t to come to pass. Greater things have yet to come! There’s no turning back but only moving forward towards enlargement.

Personal Reflection: On “Voices Together”

It has been months of preparation with much prayer, discussions and more prayers for this event called “Voices Together” to happen. It was four (4) years ago that the first “Voices Together” was held. This year’s event is another run to include many more. Having been invited to become part of the Core Team, I was at the front-row seat in seeing how it all came together. Here’s the sequence of events that Henry Ford aptly described: “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”  We fulfilled it and I believe you would agree, it was a huge success because all worked together for one purpose only, i.e., to see Jesus lifted high.

What transpired last July 1, 2013 at Rogers Arena was a collaboration of many like-minded individuals with only one desire, i.e., to see the Name of Jesus lifted high by God’s people with many “Voices Together.” I believe it was done with such extravagance and jubilation of corporate praise and worship. From beginning to the end, there was never a dull moment as many testified. People were impacted by each part of the program as seen by their animated reactions and energetic applause. Indeed, God was there with us in accepting adoration from His people from all walls of life and various denominations.

Heaven was present as God fulfilled His promise to “inhabit the praises of His people” and during the times of worship, Rogers Arena became a habitation of God’s presence with His people lifting up a mighty sound of praise. No person can deny that God was truly honored that day and without a doubt all who came realized that they have chosen a better time to celebrate Canada Day with the Lord and His people with “Voices Together.”  To this, I can boldly say that no one left the arena without uttering these important words with much faith and assurance that “God was with us” all the way, from its commencement towards the conclusion. Yet, it does not end there for we need to look forward towards next year’s event.

What occurred last 2008 was a seed faith towards this year’s event and hopefully it will become an annual event that the Body of Christ can prepare and look forward to. It is my heart’s desire to see revival at work in my generation and to see it first-hand. I have read many revival stories and I am looking forward that it will occur in this generation. But I know that any kind of revival can only be ushered when God’s people begins to become passionate in praying for its arrival with “aggressive” unity in place.

To end, allow me to share what I come across what God’s people must remember in forging an “aggressive” unity with one another: “Just before the battle of Trafalgar, Nelson inquired of Admiral Collingwood where his captain was, and learned that he and Captain Rotherham were not on good terms with each other. Sending a boat for the captain, he placed the hands of Collingwood and Rotherham together, pointed to the enemy's ships, and earnestly looking them both in the face, he uttered the simple words: 'Look, yonder is the enemy.' It was enough; disagreements were forgotten, and victory was gained” (Hy Pickering). May this generation of believers in this part of the world answer the prayer of Jesus, “That they all may be one; as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that you have sent me” (John 17:21 NIV). Last July 1 at Rogers Arena was just a taste of what is yet to come. Get ready and get everyone on board for next year’s “Voices Together.” You’ll never know, next year’s gathering will be at BC Place Stadium. Why not? Nothing is impossible to those who believe. Do you believe?
